Description- Today's children are growing up in a digital playground. Their primary learning modalities are grounded in technology that encompass both their private and public lives, as well as their future educational and professional careers. Students cannot learn if they do not feel safe and learn better when socioemotionally well. A child left unattended in a playground and a child online can face the same dangers; bullying, suicide, drug and alcohol addition, and acts of violence. Join Gaggle in the discussion on the key components of student and school safety, their experiences with districts in North Carolina, and solutions for prevention. Together we can keep our students safe and engaged in any learning environment.

Participants will be engaged in real time examples of what Gaggle finds within our content. When we share examples of students in crisis, we will dig into rich discussion to share what they are seeing in their own districts. What trends are we seeing in emergency situations? How can we be proactive in finding students in crisis? Where does mental health services fit into the school house? We will grapple with these topics, discuss experiences, and share resources.
