Projects with a Purpose: Utilizing the power of technology to celebrate students and their communities

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
Participants will begin by viewing some examples of the different types of projects students in Anderson School District Two have created over the past 7 years to discover how partnering technology (cinematography, WeVideo, green screens, etc.), academic standards, and the community can produce 21st century standards rich and content-integrated documentaries and museum style exhibits, which open doors to your community's history, culture, people, and a sense of local pride. As they listen to the presentation, they will think of a project their students could complete and fill out a mind-map with ideas of who might be able to help them with different aspects of the process. Participants will then hear from three key individuals in the process and the roles they played: a classroom teacher, technology coach, and a local museum's educational coordinator. Lastly, participants will hear from the students' perspective (through pre-recorded video). Attendees will be given resources that include templates as well as example projects to help them get started on their own projects with a purpose.
