Powering Up Engaging Lessons with Pear Deck Integration for Secondary Education

I intend to delve into the engaging components of Pear Deck integration with high school instruction specifically for science. I will introduce and demonstrate these components with an interactive Pear Deck biology lesson. Participants will be actively engaged in the lesson which will incorporate various digital tools including the embedding of educational websites such as Edpuzzle, Quizlet, and Review Game Zone. Other Pear Deck interactive responses that will be included are drawing, multiple choice, text answer, number answer, and draggable. Participants will play the role of a high school student and personally experience the power of Pear Deck. They will leave this session with new ideas of how to incorporate this platform into their daily instruction and plenty of resources to get them started.

  • Diversity Part of the Pear Deck lesson will include a social-emotional component which reviews what has occurred on this day in history among other pieces. This part will incorporate facts and occurrences that have taken place in other cultures around the world. Pear Deck also provides for an equitable playing field and gives every student a voice, even if they are shy or withdrawn from open conversation in a classroom setting.
