Summary
As educators,we facilitate learning for students with varied knowledge and experiences. This session provides an understanding of research-based protocols, graphic organizers, and thinking routines that scaffold student learning. You’ll walk away with templates and tools to help you provide scaffolded instruction that will empower learners and grow knowledge constructors.

The session will begin with attendees engaging in an interactive session to process scaffolding strategies and tools which can be used in a blended or virtual environment. Participants will engage in a variety of strategies used to facilitate effective scaffolding protocols with students. There will be purposeful discussions with colleagues as they explore research-based protocols, graphic organizers, and thinking routines, along with other professional resources and examples.

Digital tools and templates will be modeled for participants in order to build a bridge from workshop to the classroom. The tools and templates will include: EduProtocols, Project Zero Thinking Routines, Discovery Education Spotlight on Strategies, National School Reform Faculty protocols and activities, and templates from digital learning experts.

Participants will leave with access to a repository of resources which highlight effective scaffolding practices that empower learners and grow knowledge constructors.
