This interactive discussion on copyright will share results from a survey identifying copyright resources available in schools. Frequently asked questions school librarians receive from faculty will be addressed, and a brief overview of common copyright law issues faced by teachers and librarians will be shared. Selected examples of school copyright policies will be shared. Participants will be guided through three sample fair use determinations. Presenters will provide a variety of ways that attendees may choose to engage with the resources and each other during this session. An interactive part with participants using their devices to search and review copyright resources will be included. Padlet an online bulletin board will be introduced and used.

Participants will be encouraged to engage with others, presenters will encourage everyone to share, discourage interruptions when someone is speaking, and will make efforts to provide opportunities for questions by all. Equitable access to materials or alternatives under copyright law will be shared. There will be a variety of ways that attendees may choose to engage with the resources and each other during this session. Presenters will structure speaking with time allowed for intervals of input from participants and will make efforts to draw from all areas of the group.
