A brief presentation will be given on past titles that have been used successfully in our building. The presentation will also incorporate hands-on STEM activities, community involvement, philanthropic opportunities, in addition to other cross-curricular activities. Student products will be on display and participants will have the opportunity to become actively engaged in a number of the activities.

  • Diversity One of the titles we are presenting in the session is a title featuring a young, African-American girl as the lead character. The other book contains activities that focus on multiple social-emotional learning opportunities. These opportunities focus on building relationships within a diverse population. The purpose of One School, One Book is to expose all students to the same text to build a love of reading and provide access to the same opportunities regardless of reading ability, home life circumstances, language barriers, etc.
