Using technology in the classroom is scary for many teachers. Initially, teachers use technology as a replacement for a worksheet or other simple replacements. Using technology as a student creation tool instead of a simple replacement tool is a great way to use technology as a means to increase student engagement and a deeper understanding of content. This presentation will address how to help teachers release control and take risks to benefit student learning by moving from simple technology activities to full student creation projects. Participants will be shown how to make simple changes in their own content lessons to implement technologically driven creation projects. Presenters will provide opportunities for attendees to brainstorm with others and the presenters to leave with fresh ideas.
